Hi all - I'm in a panic and hope for some words of advice. We ripped out old tub and had new tub and cement backer board installed. Tile installer coming today to begin tiling the tub alcove (instead of a shower surround 1-piece thing). In the meantime, we primed the cement backer board at what we thought was the advice of our drywall guy (who was fixing up the other walls in the bathroom). The tile installer says we have to remove the primer before he can tile.

In the meantime, my husband read that we can use a wallpaper scorer (for stripping wallpaper) to pierce the primer enough that it can be tiled over.

Can anyone advise us what to do?

Thanks in advance,
Kate

You turned a perfectly good tiling surface into an un-tileable one. I doubt that a wallpaper scraper will work. Tell me what you primed the walls with so I can better advise you. "TIRTGIM"
