I have pale beige unglazed tiles on my bathroom floor and have had small gray stains that appeared as early as 1982 and nothing that I have tried removes them. They look like dirty water spots. I tried bleach, even straight Clorox on the stains but no luck. Has anyone got any ideas about how to remove these ugly eyesores short of retiling?
Thank you.

I have pale beige tiles on my bathroom floor. They are not shiny so I guess they are not glazed or finished. As long ago as 1982 I began to notice little gray spots about the size of a quarter around the toilet that I could not account for. At first, there were just a few and then about ten more appeared. Nothing I have tried, including scrubbing with straight Clorox bleach, can get them out. Since they give the appearance of dirty stains left over on a clean floor, I am anxious to remove them. Can anyone give any advice? Thank you.
