This DVD that has three methods of countertop installations demonstrated.
The very premier method of mortar bed in kitchens is shown. The Backerboard
countertops in Bathrooms is shown and tile over Plywood is demonstrated
where is can be properly installed to be trouble free.
Floating a mortar deck with cement can
be a project that is daunting for most of us even pro’s can have their work cut out for them
if they haven’t learned the proper way to do this. Paul and Jodi
break this down for you and clearly demonstrate every step from sink
cut outs, moisture protection, wire lathing, sink mortar bed re-enforcement,
to actually floating a long lasting cement deck to apply the tile over.
The tile is applied with trim made specifically for that purpose and
a decorative backsplash is also installed. Backerboard countertops are a project that many can tackle especially
after viewing this step by step instruction from Paul and Jodi. Sink
cut outs, application of backer board decking and face boards are well
demonstrated. Nothing is left out making this an easy project to consider
in your home. Tile over plywood can be a mistake sometimes, but Paul and Jodi demonstrate
a proper installation of tile over plywood on a bar top installation
complete with trim made for countertop installations. The Glass tile backsplash that Paul and Jodi install demonstrates the
very latest in installation techniques for this very trendy product.
Special mortars and grouts are applied to make this glass tile project
one that is both beautiful and properly installed. All
of these three countertops discuss layout techniques and other
points common to all countertop installations.
This is another DVD that’s
good to own even if you hiring a contractor to do this project, you
will know the right way! All
installation techniques are done using very high standards and all
content is approved by a non profit industry organization dedicated
to
teaching proper installations, The Ceramic Tile Institute of America.
